| Philips' brings travel expenses down to earth
Dutch electronics giant Royal Philips Electronics has streamlined its travel and entertainment programme through strategic alliances with SkyTeam and American Express. In 2005, the manufacturer chose to rationalise its supplier base, buying services on a global basis. As part of that strategy, it signed a deal to take travel services through SkyTeam, a global airline alliance of nine members - Aeromexico, Air France, Alitalia, Continental Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Northwest Airlines - covering travel in over 30 countries. To keep track of expenses, it opted for the travel and entertainment programme offered by American Express. You what? Bust through tech jargon with silicon.com's Cheat Sheets. The Amex service benchmarks each of Philips' negotiations with SkyTeam against a list of other transactions by companies of a similar size and business, made up from its own customer list.

However, they will, beginning in March provide another series of mandated training to all field staff statewide." According to Munsell, the investigation uncovered a need for additional training, mandatory reporting requirements and policy changes regarding how and when to report alleged abuse or neglect. Munsell explained that when a call is placed, the worker has to make a judgment call on whether the call meets child maltreatment criteria. She said the revision could include a requirement that employees notify the hotline every time a call is placed as a precaution. In addition, she said, training will teach workers what questions to ask callers to determine if criteria is met. "This will ensure that all suspected abuse and neglect is reported to the hotline," she said.

The guy's guide to Las Vegas bachelor parties
Fifty years ago, with equal parts charisma and martinis, Frank Sinatra made Las Vegas. In 1996, Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau introduced that Vegas cool to a new generation with their movie "Swingers." Now, it's a losing bet to see a group of friends living it up in Vegas and not saying "Vegas, baby, Vegas!" at least three times an hour. And remember, what happens in Vegas ... gets written about here in the guys' guide to a Las Vegas bachelor party. .
Fujitsu Evolves Leading Workgroup Segment With Release of New Scanning ...
The advanced paper feeding technology incorporated into the Fujitsu fi-6130/fi-6230 scanners reduces document preparation time, while providing improved paper handling. The innovative feeding system employs a new reversing brake-roller technology that helps maintain the tapered edge on paper batches to more reliably separate sheets during the scanning process. A larger pick-roller design works in concert with the advanced separation technology to permit a broader range of paper weights to pass through the feeder mechanism (11 to 56.2 lbs). Additionally, ultrasonic double feed detection and a newly designed scanner panel provides exceptional control for the operator. In addition to offering best-in-class functionality and value, Fujitsu also provides industry-leading software bundles for its scanners.

Meanwhile, Obama's 'I'm not an operating officer' admission seems near-disastrous. a) Obama makes the presidency sound like a grand, slo-mo transformation of vision into legislation. But there are crisis requiring quick, coordinated action, and the type of leader who can act effectively in a crisis is likely to be a good "operating officer" rather than a visionary; b). Once you pass a law you have to implement it, which requires getting results out of the civil service departments. This would seem to be especially true of national health care. The president who ignores the bureaucracy and focuses on 'vision' is apt to be defeated by that bureaucracy. c) Immersing yourself up to the elbows in the various departments is one way to find out the information that bureaucrats are unlikely to pass up the chain of command.

Finding a good assistant who can live up to Miranda's high expectations is a near impossible task. That changes when the smart, unfashionable Andy Sachs walks into her office. Anne Hathaway, the breakout star of "The Princess Diaries," and who had a key role in "Brokeback Mountain," portrays Andy, a journalism student who believes she can change the world after leaving the comforts of Northwestern University and landing in the big city. Andy, says Frankel, "is on a journey that we all take when we get our first jobs and discover what the real world is like. We're faced with ethical and moral choices that we never considered, and we learn about ourselves." Hathaway adds, "If you're over age 21, you've probably had some of Andy's experiences." In the distorted aesthetics of the New York fashion scene, a size 6 like Andy stands out.
